Specialist Practice Areas:
I specialise in leasing and complex development work - the more complex the better. Certainly I have been involved in a lot of very exciting and innovative projects which pushed the boundaries, doing things that had never been done before.

What I have done in the past
I have always loved working in the property arena and have practised property law since 1998, joining Burton & Co in 2003. Although I'm originally from Rotorua I came to Auckland to go to Law School and have never left.

My approach to working with clients
I enjoy a collaborative approach to working with clients which means understanding their vision for a project, knowing where they are coming from and where we need to get to at the end both from a legal and a commercial perspective.

What I enjoy at work
The intellectual challenge and the people you meet along the way. Lots of our client relationships are long term and we have worked through many challenges together over the years and got some great results - generally whilst retaining a sense of humour and camaraderie along the way.

What I enjoy out of work
I really enjoy photography - both because it gets me out of the office and because it's a great creative outlet. I have also been lucky enough to have seen a lot of the world and been to some pretty "off the track" places. That said, New Zealand is home!
